In this episode of the It's an Inside Job podcast, our special guest Atle Vårvik, the founder of MOT, shares his journey and the importance of resilience in our lives. Atle started MOT in 1994 with the aim of strengthening the resilience of youth and creating inclusive school cultures. He emphasizes the significance of surroundings and taking care of one's own talent, drawing from personal experiences that shaped his motivation. Atle's new book, "The Power of Resilience," explores the 12 characteristics of resilient individuals, including a positive attitude, the ability to deal with adversity, commitment, self-efficacy, and more.

Atle Vårvik is the Founder and creator of MOT. When he stepped down both as MOT’s leader and entrepreneur, MOT was one of Norway’s most important and beneficial brands and spread to four continents.

Atle is a former elite athlete in speed skating. He is Norwegian champion and Olympian – and in 1994, he was ranked among the 8 best speed skaters in the world.

In 2015, Atle received the Honorary Award from the Norwegian Confederation of Sports for spreading values in the society and for his work with MOT, and in 2014, he got one of Norway’s greatest leadership and value awards – the Reitan Group’s “Årets Ladejarl”.

Atle is an entrepreneur, brand builder, leader developer and interim leader with years of experience at making people, leaders, team spirit, cultures and businesses grow. Today, he runs his own business and helps other businesses strengthen long term added value, sustainability and competitiveness.
